Job purpose

Reporting to the President & Operations Manager, the purpose of the Class 1 Driver is the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of dangerous goods over land to and from sites to disposal.

Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
• Document and log work (e-log) /rest periods and kilometres spent driving
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
• Responsible for making safety performance and environmental awareness the primary focus for all assigned tasks.
• With minimal supervision, the Operator must be able to operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Responsible for mobilization of equipment by driving trucks to and from the job location.
• Maintain satisfactory driving record as defined by FluidPRO’s motor vehicle insurance carrier
• Monitors, inspects and adjusts all major equipment during operations to ensure the equipment’s adequate operation, such as adjusting pump and injection rates
• Perform duties according to Policy and comply with all requirements of the Safety Manual, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Place Instructions.
• Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
• Flexibility to work days or evenings and out of town if required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications are as follows:

• Minimum of Three (3) Years of relevant Class 1 Experience.
• Knowledge of the transportation industry regulations
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
